Red Queen
Created during the summer of 2020, a time of political unrest in the US, this portrait series draws inspiration from Victoria Aveyard’s Red Queen books, a dystopian tale of oppression and resistance. The series brings to life the oligarchs of that world, figures of cold, unyielding authority, echoing the detachment and dominance of real-world political leaders.
Focusing on regal busts, these portraits highlight the calculated elegance and subtle menace of power with a touch of fantasy.
